YODOK[Nor/Swe] The norwegian experimental duo Yodok is one of the most original and certainly astonishing musical projects of our times. Using a non common instrumentation they display powerful soundscapes into the frontier where ambient/noise/drone/avantgarde/free improv and contemporary electroacoustic music finds a meeting point. Under the chtonic and frantic pulse of drums and the vast tones, layers and textures produced by a highly processed microtonal tuba and flugabone this duo can transport the listener to a dissolution into a mighty storm of sound. Lo and Järmyr meet in 2008 at the well renowned jazz department at the music conservatory in Trondheim, Norway. They started the duo Yodok, released one vinyl (rec. 2009/rel. 2012) and one CD (rec. 2010/rel. 2013). In 2012 the projet became a trio together with belgian guitarist Dirk Serries (vidnaObmana, Fear Falls Burning) and they renamed the project as YODOK III.
